Today marks the launch of a new series here at 3by3D. We're spotlighting our favorite 3D-printed things from other talented designers and artists.
Introducing the Rock Crawler, designed by Richy. Our jaws hit the floor when we first saw this product on the Shapeways homepage. It captures everything we love most about 3D printing: creativity, craft, and cool factor.
*** Creativity: Richy says this 3D print is inspired by the rock crawling buggies from Moab, Utah. We've always liked these ATVs, but never gave a second thought to 3D printing them. Bravo. 9/10
*** Craft: The attention to detail is impressive; look closely and you'll even see mini "stinger" logos on the hubcaps. Each wheel is independent and rolls freely, the suspension coils provide a flexible, springy bounce, and the roll cage is equipped with sway bars and custom ball joints. 10/10
*** Cool Factor: It's a working all-terrain vehicle that comes out of a 3D printer as a single piece. Does it get any cooler than that? 10/10
